Beginning Monday, November 30, all Elementary students (Preschool-5th Grade) will return to IN-PERSON learning, and High School students (6th-12th Grade) will continue DISTANCE learning for one more day.

IN-PERSON learning for all Elementary & High School students is scheduled to begin Tuesday, December 1.

Meal pick-ups for grade 6-12 grade students will be available on Monday, Nov. 30 from 11:00AM-1:00PM at the WEST (Door #10) of the High School. ALL STUDENTS (6-12th Grade) who are on our meal delivery route will continue to have meals delivered while in distance learning on Monday.
(Nov. 18, 2020 Special Board Meeting Information)

The WAO School Board held a special meeting yesterday afternoon (11/18/20) to address the Governor’s Executive Orders #20-94 and #20-95.
1. Beginning Wednesday, December 2, WAO Public School will implement asynchronous student learning at home, each Wednesday that school is in session. Meals and childcare will continue to be available on Wednesdays as they have during distance learning.
2. All other days that school is in session and operating within an in-person or hybrid model, we will continue to provide synchronous learning at school for both In-Person & Family Choice Distance Learners.
3. More detailed information will follow shortly from our building principals.
4. Following the new Governor’s Executive Order #20-99, all in-person WAO extra-curricular activities will be paused beginning Saturday, Nov. 21st until further notice.

(Nov. 16, 2020 Emergency Board Meeting Information)

The WAO School Board held an emergency board meeting this evening at 5:00 pm to discuss and make a decision on our Learning Model:
1. Beginning Tuesday, November 17, all Elementary students (Preschool-5th Grade) will begin DISTANCE learning, and High School students (6th-12th Grade) will continue DISTANCE learning. All PreK-12 students will DISTANCE learn through November 30. IN-PERSON learning is scheduled to begin Tuesday, December 1.
2. Meal pick-ups for PreK-12th grade students will be available from 11:00AM-1:00PM each day that school is in session at the EAST (Door #1) of the Elementary School. ALL STUDENTS (Preschool-12th Grade) who were on our meal delivery route will continue to have meals delivered while in distance learning.
3. Families who previously qualified for Child Care are invited to continue receiving Child Care at the Elementary school from 8:00 am - 3:10 pm.

The WAO School Board held an emergency meeting tonight, 10/28/20, at 6:30 pm to discuss and make decisions on three items:
1. Early Out Days - Friday, November 20 & Friday, December 4 students will be dismissed at 2PM with child care available at the elementary school.
2. Distance Learning Model Shift - There will be no school for students on Friday, Oct. 30 and Distance Learning for ALL PreK-12 students will begin on Monday, Nov. 2 and end Friday, Nov. 13 to allow for a two-week reset. This is due to COVID having a high impact on student learning and safety.
3. Activities/during our two week distance learning reset will continue as scheduled at the High School level.
